Simple Machine Causal Games


During my time at Simple Machine, I worked on several mobile games for IOS.

These are casual games centered around physics, timing, and color matching/pattern recognition.


My Role:

  • Work as part of an iterative team, contributing to ideation, prototyping and refining gameplay mechanics.

  • QA and playtesting.


Color Lader, Color Pic Challenge

Color Pic Challenge presented players with a color and sent them on a quest to snap a picture of the closest matching color in their surroundings, grading each photo on the percentage matched.

Castle Smash

Castle Smash was a turn-based strategy/tower defense prototype. Tactically place troops on the board and upgrade their stats to fortify your “Power Source” while destroying the opposing castle’s.

Inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monster Coliseum, Disgaea, Plants vs. Zombies, and DOTA.

Flippy Toss

Flippy Toss was a personal favorite to test throughout our days, helping me build a sense of what kinds of feedback feel good for a player — the tactile features that help spike the ol' dopamine receptors.
