So, a bit of lore…

My YouTube channel was a pioneer in the South African digital space.

We were one of the first channels in South Africa producing scripted comedy series and short films tonally akin to US heavy hitters like CollegeHumor or Smosh.

I got a unique glimpse into our parasocial futures — being an early “vlogger” or “influencer” with consistent engagement.

The channel was in the first group to be partnered with YouTube when the Partner Program launched in South Africa, making it one of the first monetized YouTube channels ever.
